It wasn’t that long ago that the word “deconstruction” was almost never used. Then, almost out of nowhere, deconstruction was everywhere. It spread just as quickly as COVID. At the same time, I was coming to the realization that the Jesus I was reading about in the Bible was not the same Jesus I was … Continue reading Curiosity in Faith: Navigating Deconstruction

The Power of ‘One Day’: A Call to Courage
Life can become a chaotic cycle of obligations, leading to passive waiting for a "someday" that often breeds bitterness. Instead, embracing "one day" moments, like Jonathan’s faith-filled decision in the Bible, encourages active participation in God's unfolding story, transforming hope into action and inviting real change in our lives.

Our names are part of who we are, many with deep and rich meanings, showing us who the namer believed the person could become. As a pastor, I … Continue reading An Invitation and a Promise Part 3
Creative Creation
June 10th, 2022 Thoughts from today’s reading of Genesis 1-5 “In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth”. Over the course of six (literal or figurative) days, he both made it to support life and filled it with life. Incredible. The grass was grown, the trees had fruit, and the light from faraway … Continue reading Creative Creation
